Newt5

Thank you for coming to help celebrate Newt's 5th Birthday!

From being told he was "probably going to die any day" at age 11 weeks, when first diagnosed with a liver shunt (portosystemic shunt) to celebrating his 5th birthday on March 15, 2013, (Yes, the Ides of March!) Newt has enriched our lives with his presence.

He has not only survived, but thrived.

To celebrate his milestone birthday, we wanted to thank his online friends for their warmth, friendship, and most of all, helping to share his message of Hope. You are so important. The more people who are aware that a liver shunt in a kitten or cat IS treatable, the more Hope grows for others. We can't thank you enough for your help.

But we CAN have a pawty for you!

All pawty guests will receive the Newt5 MultiPass, entitling the bearer to free admittance and pre-paid fare for all Washington, D.C. area attractions and transportation. Dancing!

We do know how much Newt's online friends enjoy dancing! Here in Newtopia, our house is always filled with music, and we find ANY excuse to dance. Newt begged us until we permitted him to remodel the basement into a Texas-style Dance Hall large enough for all his friends.

Shake your tails, scales, wings and flippers to some of Newt's favorite music. You never know what you might hear here!

Food!

Oh, my goodness, the FOOD! Newt's friends have been sending over

food presents for the last three days! We brought in extra tables to hold it all! The "bar" has cream and sardine juice (soup) for liquid refreshment, and noms and snacks are self-serve, all-you-can eat, buffet style, so, please help yourself! There's plenty!

Picnic baskets and sack lunches available for you to load up and take noms with you as you head out sightseeing after the dance.

Here is a sampling of the many offerings to tempt your palate!

Snacks from Friends:

Cakes from Friends:

Famous Cuppycakes from Friends!

Typical Newt Snacks:

Newt eats all home-cooked meals as part of his personal medical maintenance for his liver shunt. He eats approximately 1 part protein (usually chicken) to 3 parts vegetables (such as cucumber, carrots, broccoli, etc.) for his normal meals. He enjoys treats in moderation from other human foods, as well. A few of his favorite meal components and snacks are listed below.

So please, eat, drink and be joyous! Every day is a celebration in Newtopia, and we are so thankful to have you in our lives to share  our little Pookie Bear Newt's 5th birthday party - truly, a Celebration of Hope!

With Love and Hope,

Mum, Cat Daddy and Newt the Cat.
